2015.09.24: Treasure Hunter Man 2: Released! (Windows only)

I made another one of these things. You might like it if you're into pixels like I am. Oh those pretty pixels! Screw 3d. Seriously! (Kidding. I actually do a lot of 3d gamedev nowadays, it just hasn't resulted in something finished yet.)

If you thought teenagers are annyoing, then... this game'll certainly reinforce that. Those little jerks and their weird teenage impulses!

Could you please release some of your games on Steam!?....I would be so happy to buy them there just so I can have some steam achievements to earn for your games. Also since your art is awesome, Steam trading cards would be great too...I love your games, please bring them to Steam <3

Thanks! I think the one below the 2 skull room is what I am missing...I cannot make that jump for the life of me! I'll keep trying :) I'm at 78% so hopefully that's the one

KT - I'll try! You can find a super secret area below the two-skull miniboss. The hidden entrance is at the right-most end of the water area. Another one requires you to jump off a bird in the earlier part of the level. Then there's one right above the water area mini-boss. Does that help?

Thanks! And with that, the game is beat! It was a wild ride, especially with all the shield jumping, but it was fun! I just do wonder how to get the best ending. I bought the potion, but I never found a place to use it.

Allayna: You need the boomerang for that one - go to the left end of that area, into the castle, and its cellar.

FaonofSMBYX: The Countless Bones level can help you get the best ending - there's a secret in there. You also may need a potion, which you can buy at Smelly's. Find as many stats upgrades as you can, it makes that level much easier.

Hey Bernie, I'm really enjoying the game. Or should I say enjoyed since I got stuck a couple months back. Is the Countless Bones level mandatory? If so, what are the best ways to prepare? I *think* I bought out Smelly's stock. Thank you.

I'm STILL stuck... There's the button in skyview that I can't hit, I've tried many times to shield-jump off that snakes head and either it's pixel perfect or that's not what I'm supposed to do! How on earth am I supposed to continue!?

UGH, I cannot find all of the treasure in Shipwreck - driving me crazy. I feel like I need to go somewhere higher in the slide section or into the wall off the last slide? Can't make either happen. Help please :)

Yeah, I have gotten up to the tower... I've found the chests up there, but not anything that seems to be useful for progressing...I've managed to scrape together enough coins to get all but the teleport stone from the store. All the places I know I haven't gone seem to require a double jump, I can't figure out what I"m missing!

You can climb the tower in the 1st area using the shield. :)

I seem to be stuck at the windmill... Can't figure out what to do in here to progress! I've got the sword and shield, the atk, def, health up from the store. Seems like I need to be able to jump higher or double jump, and I read the in the comments that there is a boomerang.

Getting 100% all on my own was fun. It took 3 days to realise what was missing.

But I got it all and another game done. Thank you Bernie for making this one as well :)

My server had problems and restored a backup. Seems to have removed some comments.

Joe: If my guess is right and you enter & leave the last boss area in the wizard realm and check a percentage soul, it should say 100%.

You asked about the THM1 music earlier. I found the tracks on my old HD, and they have highly descriptive names such as 'music1.it'. :/ I have no idea where they're from.

The new version that's up fixes the Black Treasury percentage and percentage souls sometimes saying 0%.

Okay, now I have beaten the game again and have 100% in every area except Black Treasury and the souls say 95%... Last time at least, they gave me 100% but here are my end stats for reference: 47 hp, 9 atk, 6 def, 820$, all shop items, giant gem and coin. Red bar at the end is full. BTW, is there any use for the two giant items?

BTW, if you're going to make a less-bugged version at some point, here's another bug: the lost souls that show you your percentage sometimes give you "0%". Maybe related to odd numbers.

Sythe: You can get everything if you're above 90% overall. Still gonna look into the treasury percentage, but it will take two or three days coz' I'm not at home. :)

jackal27: The indie scene has changed things quite a lot. But the only thing I enjoy doing is making small free games. I gave bigger projects a go, but it's not for me. Also: Thanks for playing!

Hi Bernie, I just wanted to chime in and say I'm having the exact same problem as Joe with being stuck at 96% in the treasury. I'm glad to hear I can still get the best ending, but can I still get still get into the heroic room without that one coin?

I'll take a look at the level. The game counts all items and coins, so technically it shouldn't happen, but who knows! :) Thanks for playing it.

A general fyi: You only need 90% of the treasures for the best ending.

Okay, I was double-checking every area's percentage when I noticed Black Treasury's was stuck at 96. After replaying the entire area 20+ times, I am wondering if this is a bug. The only unexplained suspicious thing is this seemingly useless fake wall before the last gauntlet. Any hints?

I found the coin and the gem so, I guess that is everything :D I enjoyed these last challenges and the only sort of criticism I would have is that this game felt much more like an AGWAK rather than THM, especially the bosses. Which reminds me: just what is the name of the music which played in level 3 & 4 of THM? And the one which plays in the clouds in THM? Anyways, Thank you for this game!

Thanks for playing! :) Being heroic depends on if you've found and lifted Marvin's curse. Buy everything and maybe check the shop again after a while once you got it all. There are no dead ends, get all you can.

Hi! This one's really good! Three chests left me stumped for a while but now I have 100%! Which leads me to ask: how does one be heroic? do you have to refrain from buying certain item? If so, which ones? Do I have to beat this w/o teleport? Is it item related or timed?
